This is a paid Intern/Training program. The participant will be paid $15.42 per hour.
This program is open to all persons who meet the eligibility requirements. Participants will receive on-the-job training in all facets of their selected area of interest and qualification. Additional training may be provided in supervisory skills, customer service skills, and English language skills. Placement depends upon the qualifications of the applicant and departmental needs. Trainees and interns will be evaluated throughout the program. Those who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by the YMCA of the Rockies and a Letter of Recommendation to prospective employers.
12 months starting April 1st. Trainees may be offered the option to extend to 18 months.
Amazing Colorado mountain adventures and lifestyle! Free/discounted access to most YMCA facilities (skiing, ice-skating, hiking, rock-climbing, alpine lakes, and indoor gym activities). A share of the Appreciation Fund (tips given by guests) is distributed every pay period. Monthly staff activities (crafts such as painting, jewelry-making, tie-dye, etc., trips to Denver for sports and cultural events, movie nights and game nights, indoor swim, engaging cultural events and meals, etc). Discounted lodge nights for family and friends.
Housing is dormitory style and participants will have 2-3 roommates with a common bathroom for the floor. The common area has a large screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, and games. Access to a dormitory kitchen with appliances, dishes, cooking utensils, etc. WiFi, bed linens, towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and free laundry facilities provided. Cost includes all utilities including internet.
The current deduction for room and board is $170.00 per week (subject to change).
Included in housing cost: all-you-can-eat buffet-style dining; three meals a day, seven days a week.
Staff shirts are provided, but participants need to arrive with black pants and black shoes.
5-10 minutes walking distance from dorms. Scheduled shuttles to and from town.
