Jenkinson’s South is a great amusement park right on the beach in New Jersey. Choosing Jenkinson’s allows a student a chance to visit many popular destinations in the US with a simple train ride. The local train station will take a student in about 90 minutes to Times square in NYC. Students typically travel to Boston and Washington also. We will have a variety of students from many different countries working here and customers from all over the world. Jenkinson’s South is an exciting place to work!!
40% at Little Macs, 20% at Boardwalk Bar and Grill downstairs, and Pavilion Restaurant fast food. We will provide transportation from Point Pleasant Bus Station and take you to the SS Office.
Ride Operator- $15.50/hour
Students will be operating any one of the 26 rides in our amusement park. All ride certification is done on the premises. Amusement Park/Rides Attendants may be working at a roller coaster, moving ride or children’s ride area. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Constantly monitor and regulate the behavior of patrons and co-workers in the ride area to prevent unsafe activities and accidents. Warn patrons of safety hazards and enforce rules and regulations in a positive and courteous manner. Assist guests in an out of rides which may include lifting children into seats and buckling seatbelts and/or safety harnesses. Operate ride controls, buttons, and switches which may be mechanical, computerized or a combination of both. Effectively respond to emergency situations. Prepare ride area for opening and closing each day which may include test runs of the ride. Keep all ride areas clean including: seats, cars/trains, ride platform and guest line area. This may include sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing, power washing, vacuuming, waxing and picking up trash. Control entry to ride areas by monitoring pass/ticket usage. Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints of guests. Keep supervisor/manager informed of situations relating to facility operation, patron complaints or concerns, accidents, emergency situations, damages and potential safety hazards. Attend departmental and team meetings as well as participate in all additional training courses. Perform all duties in a safe manner. Employees may be asked to move to different locations or job assignments within the property, as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Average gross weekly wage was around $800/week for about 51 hours. There is a bonus upon completion of the contract. $.50 or 50 cents for every hour worked. This is the only position that offers this bonus.
Game Operator- $14.53/hour
Employees will be working the games stands located throughout our property. Employees will try to draw in customers to play the games which range from shooting games to spinning a wheel, the winners will receive prizes. This position is exempt by law and does NOT pay overtime. Shifts are typically between 6-12 hours per day and over 40 hours per week mostly nights and weekends. Estimated weekly gross wage is $900.
General Food & Beverage Worker- $14.53/hour + tips
As a Food Service employee with Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, you will provide superb guest-centered service in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. You will serve quality food products and maintain the cleanliness of both the dining and food preparation areas. You will greet guests, take their orders and/or prepare food. Employees will also operate cash registers, receive money and return proper change. Employees must have a cooking background. Average hours last season were 38 hrs per week and a gross wage of about $600.
Retail Sales- $14.53/hour + tips
Greet and assist Customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Process customer orders and restock all items – candy, ice cream cones, milkshakes and etc. Learn and use knowledge of Jenkinson’s Boardwalk to inform customers. Perform opening and closing of store procedures as directed. Average hours per week are around 37, it is a fast paced. Shifts are typically between 5 to 8 hrs per day and around 35 hours per week. Work will be mainly on the weekends and at night. Participants typically find second jobs in the morning. The average gross wage last season was about $600 and 37 hours per week.
A three-bedroom house including kitchen, living room, and one bathroom. Central air and heat. Wifi included. Located within .5km from work, so that you can walk to work. Half of the rent collected will be returned via direct deposit at the end of the contract only if the contract dates are fulfilled and the housing is in as good a shape as it was received. Leave early no rent is returned. In order to receive half the rent back, the employee must work until the contracted date, be in good standing with their manager, and leave the house in as good as shape as it was received. Housing is located about 1km from the train station and grocery store.
